What an AI voice assistant does for Swiss practices
The practice phone often rings exactly when everybody is busy: during a treatment, in the lunch break, in the evening or at the weekend. Every unanswered call is a potentially lost booking.
Voxtra takes forwarded calls immediately, on a free line, even when several people call at once. The assistant clarifies the concern, checks availability live and books the right appointment with the right person. At the start of every call, the caller learns that they are speaking to an AI assistant.
Built for Switzerland: languages and dialect
Voxtra supports German, French, Italian and English and additionally understands Swiss German. The assistant recognises which language is being spoken on its own during the call, by voice instead of menu or key press. A single practice number thereby takes calls in all four languages.
In German, Voxtra answers in clear Standard German, even when the caller speaks dialect. You can read how this works in detail under AI and Swiss German.
Swiss data protection (revFADP)
Sensitive data is collected on the practice phone. Voxtra is designed for the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and the EU GDPR. Recordings are processed confidentially: used only for the agreed services, and handled by Voxtra and its contractually bound service providers.
Voxtra is a Swiss product in its own right. The software stack is developed and owned by Voxtra GmbH in Zurich. For Swiss practices this means: short lines of communication and a local contact.
Booking directly into your practice software
An assistant that only passes appointments on as a note merely shifts the work. Voxtra really books: the appointment lands directly in the calendar of your practice software, with the right time window and the right person. Moving and cancelling are included, around the clock.
Integrations are available for OneDoc, ePhysio and Google Calendar; an Outlook integration is in preparation. At the practice’s request, the caller receives an SMS confirmation after the booking, with a private link for managing the appointment themselves. How this becomes automated appointment booking is described under Automate appointment booking.
AI receptionist, AI front desk, phone assistant: all the same thing
Several terms circulate for the same thing: AI receptionist, AI front desk, virtual phone assistant. We say AI voice assistant because Voxtra takes on exactly one task, namely the phone. What happens at the on-site front desk stays with your team.
Anyone searching for an AI receptionist often ends up with DIY kits to click together or add-ons for phone systems. Voxtra is a third option: you get a fully set-up assistant for your practice, with your treatments, your times and your calendar. Phrases and workflows arrive ready-made with Voxtra.
What it costs and how set-up works
Voxtra costs a fixed amount per month, regardless of call volume: from CHF 299 for one location, CHF 499 for up to three. A free 30-day test with your real calls is included and you can cancel monthly. All the details are under Costs and prices.
Set-up with an existing calendar takes around 30 minutes, and we set everything up together with you. If your practice wants to keep personal phone contact, Voxtra starts as an overflow: your team keeps answering itself, and the assistant steps in when everybody is busy, when the line is busy or outside opening hours. What else matters in a comparison is covered under What to look for when comparing.
Swiss-made software from Zurich
Voxtra is a Swiss product in its own right: the software stack is developed, owned and operated by Voxtra GmbH in Zurich. For Swiss practices that means short lines of communication, a local contact and data protection that meets Swiss expectations.
Sensitive call and appointment data is treated confidentially and serves only the services agreed with your practice. The revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP) is therefore part of the product.
